Vibratory bowl feeders: vibration systems for parts orientation

Vibratory bowl feeders are devices used in industrial settings to orient and feed parts in industrial production lines. Through the production of vibrations, specifically, vibratory feeders cause the oscillation of appropriate containers in which the parts are placed. Thanks to the vibration of the machine, the components align and orient themselves in the correct position, in order to allow feeding and subsequent operations in another machine. Depending on the type of use, there are circular and linear vibratory feeders.

Circular vibratory bowl feeders are used in low-speed production systems for the orientation of parts in CI/TC containers. An electromagnet coil activates the vibration of the device, allowing the ascent and orientation of the parts.

Linear vibratory feeders or inline tracks are generally used in combination with circular ones to ensure a progression of the workpieces in one or multiple tracks. The goal of these devices, also driven by an electromagnet, is to ensure the orderly progression of pieces, avoid jams and guarantee the needed feeding speed and pressure.

Vibratory bowl feeders: applications

Vibratory bowl feeders find application in various production fields and can be adapted to specific needs. Generally, vibratory feeders are suitable for low-speed production lines and/or where maximum parts integrity is required.

The vibrating bases combined with the correct selection and bowl are the ideal solution for feeding for production lines in the cosmetic or pharmaceutical field of bottles, vials or other containers, where vibratory feeders play a key role. In these cases, in fact, it is required that the parts be worked with particular care: scratches, dents and other imperfections cannot be accepted in productions of this type.

In this sense, vibratory feeders are the ideal solution for the orientation and advancement of the parts, as they allow the treatment of the parts in a very gentle way while reducing the risk of damage to a minimum and, consequently, limiting waste.
